The RCMG Welcomes Dr. Wa
Retinal Consultants Medical Group is excited to announce that Dr. Christianne Wa will be joining our practice in September! Please join us in welcoming her!
Get to know Dr. Wa:
Dr. Wa was born and raised in San Francisco. As a high school senior, she was accepted into the combined Baccalaureate/ M.D. program at the University of Southern California. At USC, she was a Presidential scholar, studied abroad in Paris, and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Biological Sciences. She then earned her M.D. at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and was inducted into the Order of Arête for her exemplary leadership.
After her internship at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, Dr. Wa completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona. She then completed her fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants/ William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Wa is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wa has co-authored numerous research publications and a book chapter. She has also presented novel research at national meetings and participated in several clinical trials. Dr. Wa is passionate about saving vision and providing the best care for her patients. She is absolutely thrilled to return home to Northern California. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and cheering on her Warriors, Niners, Giants, and Trojans.
