June's Photo of the Month: Proliferative Sickle-Cell Retinopathy
Our June photo of the month features a fundus photo and fluorescein angiogram (FA) that shows sea-fan neovascularization and widespread peripheral non-perfusion which are classic indicators of Proliferative Sickle-Cell Retinopathy. The patient was diagnosed with Sickle-Cell trait when referred to our office for a retinal detachment (RD). Sickle-Cell Retinopathy was the underlying cause of the retinal detachment (RD). Special thanks to Vitreoretinal Surgery for this amazing photo!
